Everything we know about the 2025 NFL schedule so far

The full 2025 NFL schedule will be announced on Wednesday, May 14 at 8 p.m. ET, which will then be followed by every franchise’s social media team producing their best content of the year. Until then, select matchups have already been revealed.

As usual, the first game of the season will feature the reigning Super Bowl winners. This year, it will also showcase one of the fiercest rivalries in the NFL. 

Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming schedule. 

An Eagles vs. Cowboys clash kicks off the season

The Philadelphia Eagles will start defending their championship at home on Sept. 4 against the division rival Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys-Eagles matchup will be at 8:20 p.m. ET on Thursday night, the first game in NBC’s package of primarily Sunday night games. Last year, Philadelphia swept the season series against Dallas.

Most of the international games announced

The NFL announced the full matchups for all but one game in its record seven-game international slate, which includes the Minnesota Vikings playing back-to-back games in different European countries. The one matchup that hasn’t been announced is who the Los Angeles Chargers will play in Week 1 in Brazil.

Here’s the full international slate:

Week 1: TBD vs. Los Angeles Chargers at Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil (Friday, Sept. 5, TBD)
Week 4: Minnesota Vikings vs. Pittsburgh Steelers at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland (Sunday, Sept. 28, 9:30 a.m.)
Week 5: Minnesota Vikings vs. Cleveland Browns at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England (Sunday, Oct. 5, 9:30 a.m.)
Week 6: Denver Broncos vs. New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England (Sunday, Oct. 12, 9:30 a.m.)
Week 7: Los Angeles Rams vs. Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in Wembley, England (Sunday, Oct. 19, 9:30 a.m.)
Week 10: Atlanta Falcons vs. Indianapolis Colts at Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Germany (Sunday, Nov. 9, 9:30 a.m.)
Week 11: Washington Commanders vs. Miami Dolphins in Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid, Spain (Sunday, Nov. 16, 9:30 a.m.)

Eagles, Packers to meet up in Week 10

A fourth game on the Eagles’ schedule was unveiled on Tuesday. They’ll travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers on “Monday Night Football” in Week 10.

Not only is that matchup a rematch of one of Philadelphia’s playoff games from last season, but Green Bay was also the team that recommended the rule change to ban the tush push. Of course, the tush push is the play that the Eagles have used to great success over the last few years. The future legality of the play could be determined later in May.

Black Friday is back, this time with Eagles vs. Bears

For the third straight year, the NFL will follow up its loaded Thanksgiving slate with a Black Friday game streaming on Prime Video. The Eagles will host Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears on Nov. 28 at 3 p.m. ET. 

The Bears had an eventful Black Friday last season, when they fired then-head coach Matt Eberflus after a Thanksgiving Day loss to the Detroit Lions. Less than two months later, Chicago hired Lions OC Ben Johnson as its new coach. 

FOX will air a Saturday twin bill in Week 16

All eyes will be on the Eagles and Bears again in Week 16, just not at the same time. Instead, they’ll take part in a Saturday doubleheader on Dec. 20.  

Both games will pit division foes against each other. Philadelphia will visit the Washington Commanders in a rematch of last year’s NFC title bout. Chicago will welcome, probably not in a friendly manner, the Green Bay Packers to Soldier Field.

That will be one of 11 doubleheaders airing on FOX this year, the most of any network. 

The Chiefs are, again, part of a Christmas Day tripleheader 

It’s become an annual tradition for the Kansas City Chiefs to play on Christmas Day. For the third year in a row, the Chiefs will be on the field on Dec. 25. They were the home team in 2023 against the Las Vegas Raiders and the away team in 2024 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They’ll be back in Arrowhead Stadium this Christmas, playing host to the Denver Broncos at 8:15 p.m. ET.

Chiefs-Broncos can be seen on Prime Video as part of its “Thursday Night Football” schedule. The other two Christmas games, which have yet to be announced, will stream on Netflix. 

Another Saturday game will be held in Week 17

On Dec. 27, the “Peacock Exclusive Holiday” will spotlight two teams in prime time. That Week 17 matchup hasn’t been determined and won’t be for a while, though. It’ll depend on what the playoff picture looks like at the time.
