2024-25 NBA MVP odds: SGA running away from Jokić

2024-25 NBA MVP odds: SGA running away from Jokić

The NBA regular season is nearly over, which means it’s time to dive deeper into the regular-season MVP market.

As the winner of the NBA’s most coveted award in three of the last four seasons, Nikola Jokić will look to make history by winning four out of five.

Celtics legend Bill Russell won four out of five from 1960-61 to 1964-65, and LeBron James did the same between 2008-09 and 2012-13. Those are the only two names to accomplish the feat in league history.

Jokić opened the season at +400 to win the award, and currently, he is top-three in the league in points, rebounds and assists.

Let’s take a look at the NBA MVP odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of April 7.

2024-25 NBA MVP odds:

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: -3000 (bet $10 to win $10.33 total)
Nikola Jokić: +1000 (bet $10 to win $110 total)

The NBA MVP race is, according to the odds, essentially over.

As of April 7, Jokić is averaging 30.0 points (third), 12.8 rebounds (third) and 10.2 assists (second) on the season.

However, despite those gaudy and historical numbers, Gilgeous-Alexander remains in the driver’s seat.

Gilgeous-Alexander is first in the league in points per game (32.6), alongside 6.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals.

In addition, the OKC Thunder already have 64 wins with four games to go. They are two games ahead of Cleveland in the race for the best record in the league.
